Recently the Uncle Eddie’s Home for the elderly received a sizeable donation of tables and chairs from the overseas based Carib Charitable Trust entity to assist with seating accommodation and comfort of residents at the institution.
Representative of the UK-based organization, Yvonne Barrow handed over eight tables and thirty-two chairs to the home to assist with seating accommodation in the facility’s dining area.
Commenting briefly during the handing over ceremony, Mrs. Barrow indicated that since she was once a member of the home’s Management Committee, she saw it fit to make the donation to the entity, noting that it was her idea ‘of giving back to the home’, which is in need of various items.
She indicated that her organization will continue to support the cause of the home and will assist in any way possible.
Accepting the donation on behalf of the facility, Matron Rita Mc Ewan was high in praise for the gesture.
While she extended her gratitude to the Carib Charitable Trust, she assured that the gift will be cared for and used to bring added comfort and relaxation for residents of the home.
The Matron indicated that the UK-based entity, last year, had donated a quantity of mattresses for which she was equally thankful.
The Carib Charitable Trust looks after the welfare of the elderly in Caribbean states and would customarily make donations to several homes throughout the area.
