Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GT&T) will sponsor this weekend’s pre-Father’s Day Medal Play Golf tournament on Saturday at the Lusignan Golf Course.
The local telephone company disclosed that the tournament is being held in recognition of Father’s Day being observed on Sunday and several attractive prizes will be up for grabs in the one-day event.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers as well as Nearest to the pin.
The fifteen local players who have just returned from a weekend golf tour of Barbados are expected to compete.
The players in contention for top honours would include Ronald Bulkhan, winner of the recently held GBTI tournament, Ian Gouveia, Patrick Prashad, Raj Sankar, Dr. Ram Singh, Brian Hackett, Clifford Reis, Robert Hanoman, Hilbert Shields, Jorge Medina, Colin Ming, Gavin Todd, Imran Khan, Lester Alves, Chatterpaul Deo, Alfred Mentore, Maurice Solomon, Carlos Adams, Brian Glasford, Melissa Humphrey, Albert Semple, Mike Guyadin and Mel Sankies.
Golfers who have not yet registered are reminded to contact the Club by telephone number 220-5660 to register on or before Friday at 16:00 hours.
Representatives of GT&T will be on hand to assist in the distribution of prizes at the end of the tournament.
Tee off on Saturday is 12:30 hours. However, there will be a briefing ten minutes before the official tee off.
