Demerara Distillers Limited through its Pepsi brand last Monday renewed its sponsorship to Pepsi Sonics Basketball Club when they handed over a cheque valued in the region of $400,000 for the purchase of new uniforms for the senior, junior and female teams during a simple ceremony which was held, at the Company’s Head Office in Kingston.
DDL Marketing Assistant Alana Johnson, who presented the cheque to Vice-President of the Club Linda Whyte, reading from a prepared statement, said that they were happy to continue their relationship with the club which has been in existence over the past 10 years.
“This year we are contributing a substantial amount of money to cover uniforms for the various teams which compete under the Pepsi Sonics banner- First and Third Divisions, the female and junior teams. DDL and Pepsi see that Pepsi Sonics are truly supporting the development of youngsters and providing a healthy outlet for the energies of our youths. This is also evident through the basketball camps that they’ve hosted for youths of all ages. So, we believe that they are quite deserving of the new uniforms.”
“We wish them a successful remainder of 2008 as they challenge themselves to win every tournament that they enter. Pepsi is all about not settling for less and striving for more than the ordinary. We know that life is full of endless possibilities and opportunities so we encourage Pepsi Sonics to Taste, Discover, Live, and Experience MORE!
