GT&T yesterday renewed its annual collaboration with the NGO, Habitat for Humanity, when the company presented a cheque for the amount of one million dollars as its contribution to assist in the construction of a home for a deserving person.
Deputy General Manager, Public Communications, Mr. Terry Holder, at a simple ceremony, held at the Company’s head office, Telephone House, spoke of GT&T’s commitment to continue its association with the home building programme as demonstrated by the yearly funding of such a construction.
Mr. Holder, while pledging GT&T’s continued support for the work of Habitat, noted the solid association the company has with the NGO, recalling that the telephone company was the first to partner with them.
Member of the Council of Management, Mr. Lance Hinds, who collected the cheque on behalf of Habitat, praised the continued association between the parties as one that has stood the test of time.
Mr. Hinds expressed the desire that the home building partnership between the parties would continue.
Since its establishment in 1995, Habitat for Humanity has constructed over 200 homes for families in various parts of the country who because of their economic situation had successfully appealed to the organization.
