Ballistics examinations have linked the gunning down of Arjune Narine, in Durey Lane, Campbellville, to the execution of internet café owner, Lennox Drakes, and to the attacks on Police Headquarters, Eve Leary and at Buddy’s Pool Hall.
A police press release said that ballistics examinations were conducted on twelve 5.56 x 45 calibre and the nine 7.62 x 39 calibre spent shells retrieved on May 14 from Durey Lane and Middleton Street.
According to the release, the tests revealed that the twelve 5.56 x 45 shells match four spent shells found at the scene of the murder of Internet Café owner Lennox Drakes, who was slain on January 8, 2008 in Church Street, Georgetown.
“They also match two spent shells found on February 12, 2008, in the Buddy’s Pool Hall Car Park area on Sheriff Street; and five spent shells found at the scene of the attack on Police Headquarters, Eve Leary on January 25, 2008,” the statement added.
According to the statement, the nine 7.62 x 39 calibre shells found at Arjune Narine’s murder scene match two shells found at the scene on February 12, 2008, in the Buddy’s Pool Hall Car Park area on Sheriff Street.
Ballistics examinations were also done on the 21 5.56 x 45 calibre spent shells found at the scene of the attack on the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports at Quamina and Main Streets on May 16, 2008.
