The alliance currently being discussed between Georgetown and Fuzhou, which share a sister city relationship, is intended to help change the way the Georgetown City Council interacts with its citizens.
Georgetown is planning to work closely with Information Technology specialists from the Fuzhou Software Park to build an information infrastructure based on their portfolio of tiered storage systems and information management software to digitize, index, and archive the city’s information.
In addition, Orderson indicated that his department intends to leverage the Fuzhou Park’s network and remote-networking capabilities to educate the municipality’s IT employees about new information management and storage capabilities.
