The Carifesta Fashion Village is going to be excellent, assures Chairman of the Carifesta Fashion Focus Committee, Sonia Noel.
Noel said that the current committee has been working day in and day out to make sure that the logistics of the Fashion Village are sorted and ready for execution.
The Fashion Focus chairman says that she is extremely elated to see the number of young Guyanese designers who have come forward and signed up to be part of the Carifesta.
Noel added that Carifesta is definitely to be celebrated in Guyana, because it is an opportunity to showcase to the wider Caribbean region, and by extension the world, what beautiful people and products the country has to offer.
When asked about the participation of other Caribbean countries in the Fashion Village, Noel responded, “ It has been overwhelming; many countries have confirmed their participation, while others are still in the decision process of how many designers will be coming as part of their contingent.”
All in all, Noel has promised a spectacular showing of clothing, jewelry and accessories. She also mentioned the two mega fashion shows featuring participating designers and said that models, stylists and volunteers will have another chance to be part of an exciting and fun-filled event.
Carifesta will be staged in Guyana at the end of August 2008.
