For the second year running the Kendall’s Union Sports Club of No.19 East Coast Berbice area in collaboration with others and overseas members hosted a successful senior citizen day at the club’s cricket ground recently.
The activity saw some 30 senior citizens in the area being hosted by the club for the day. At the end of the day of interaction, each senior citizen present was given a sumptuous lunch, a beverage and a hampers.
The Club’s President Mr. Albert Budhoo expressed words of appreciation to the elderly folks who attended the function. He stated that they were very excited and happy to be a part of such an event, where they can give back to the senior citizens.
He thanked the invitees for attending the function and stated that the senior citizens are mostly forgotten and are not treated with the love and respect they deserve. He added that the club will make it an annual event and this is just one of the many community projects for the club.
The invitees expressed their gratitude to the club for such a wonderful gesture.
They used the opportunity to wish the organisers well in their future endeavours.
Budhoo also used the opportunity to express thanks to all the various entities that assisted in making the venture a success.
