The Kennard Memorial Turf Club Pre-Emancipation Horserace Meeting is set for today at the club’s track at Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne.
Seven races are set to be contested with the main event being for horses classified D3 and lower over 8 furlongs, with the winner collecting $1M. Among those entered are Lady Budapest, Brave Sky, Honey Flow, Settling Star, Keep on Swinging and Golden Blue Echo.
Other races will feature the event for the E class non-winners and F and lower open horses covering 5 furlongs for a winner’s purse of $400,000.
The Guyana Bred 3 years old 7 furlong race will pay a $240,000 purse, The K class non-winners and L Open race runs over 6 furlongs has a $120,000 purse offer.
The H1 and lower racehorses will gallop for 7 furlongs and the winner gets $250,000.
The J2 and lower category first place claims a $140,000 prize after covering a distance of 6 furlongs.
The L class non-winners will cover 5 furlongs for a winner’s take of $110,000.
The event will be staged under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority. Post Time is 12:30 hrs.
