Greg De Franca slammed 94, while Eon Lovell bagged 5-10 as Wellman defeated Enterprise Legends by 123 runs when the Mike’s Pharmacy, Trophy Stall and Nauth’s Motor Spares softball tournament continued recently in Georgetown.
Playing at Malteenoes SC, De Franca struck seven fours and nine sixes and got support from Raymond Harper 26, Nandram Samall 25 and Lovell 23 as Wellman posted 220-6, batting first. W. Seebarran had 2-24 and Seemangal Yadram 2-34. Enterprise Legends were bowled out for 97 in reply. Lovell got support from Arjune Badal 2-4.
Floodlights beat Amazon Warriors by 73 runs. Floodlights scored 156-5, taking first strike. Anil Beharry led with 64 while Clive Canterbury got 25. Amazon Warriors responded with 73 all out in 15.4 overs. Raghunandan Narine made 21 as Ramesh Narine took 3-9 and Canterbury 2-9.
Fisherman Masters overcame HS Masters by five wickets. HS Masters batted first and managed 141-9. Linden Lyght made 32 and Clyde Hoyte 31. Zameer Hassan had 3-27 and Roy Persaud 2-22.
Fisherman replied with 146-5 in 18.3 overs. Robert Mohan scored 43 not out and Dennis Mangru 40. Mike Ifill took 2-14. Regal Masters beat Ariel Masters, while Speedboat got the better of Regal All stars.
At Bourda in the female division, Blue Divas made 90 all out while Glen Eagles Warriors responded with 91-4 in 14.2 overs.
Trophy Stall Angles scored 78-9 in 15 overs before restricting Blue Divas for 38-8. Alicia Allen snared 2-8 and Jenelle Nero 2-18.
Glen Eagles Warriors got 126-1 with Wavney Hinds scoring 54. 4R Lioness replied with 127-3 in 11.4 overs. Akaze Thompson made 49 and Temica Wilson 22. The competition continues tomorrow. At MSC on pitch one at 10:00hrs, Floodlight will take on HS Masters and at 13:00hrs Wellman will play Fisherman Masters. At Bourda on pitch one at 10:00hrs, Liger Masters will face Sunrisers Masters and at 13:00hrs Liger Masters will play Parika Defenders.
On pitch two at 10:00hrs, Success will battle Regal All stars.
