Prominent businessman, Roy Khan, of Central Rupununi, is now counting his losses after a truck he owned was destroyed in an early morning fire.
Kaieteur News understands that around 02:00hrs on Friday, residents in the neighbourhood saw the truck on fire and summoned the fire tender.
When the firefighters arrived on the scene the fire had already engulfed the front part of the vehicle. They were able to extinguish the fire after refilling the fire tender.
Luckily, there was no one in the vehicle at the time of the blaze. Damage to the truck which was worth $5M was extensive.
Arson has not been established and no one has been arrested so far, but investigations continue.
