The Guyana Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) has announced the teams for the upcoming Pan
Am games and Word Championships at a council meeting held yesterday at Herdmonston Lodge.
Onika George and Omar Adams will represent Guyana at the Pan Am games slated for July 14-18 in Canada. The duo will be accompanied by Coach Paul Mahaica and GASA Head Ivan Persaud. Persaud will also represent Guyana at the Union Americana De Natacion meeting on the trip.
George will compete in the 50 and 100 meters freestyle, while Adams will do battle in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle.
The team is expected to depart Guyana on July 8.
Jamila Sanmoogan who is currently on a scholarship in Colombia heads the team for the World Championships set for July 24-August 9 in Kazan, Russia, while the other members are Hannibal Gaskin and Andrew Fowler. Isabel Maria Couso-Fals had been appointed coach while Charles Corbin will also travel as an executive.
