The relatives have recovered the body of 28-year-old Ramona Thomas, in the Lower Pomeroon River. The woman reportedly fell overboard and died by drowing. She had been washing clothes when she suffered an epileptic attack.
Her body was recovered after relatives discovered her missing and only saw the clothes that she was washing. A search was launched and her body was recovered and transported to the mortuary at the Oscar Joseph Hospital, at Charity.
Thomas was the mother of two young children.
A few weeks ago, a 21-year-old miner drowned after he was involved in a two-boat collision. The young man fell into the Pomeroon River and died. His body was recovered three days after.
