Competition in the A. Ally & Sons Inter Secondary School Under-17 cricket competition organised by the Berbice Cricket Board resumed recently after a break for the Easter Holidays.
Rosignol’s medium pacer Javed Karim turned in a match winning performance against Fort Wellington, snaring 7 for 32 to help bowl them out for 70 in their first innings. Karim then opened the batting and hit 50 to lead Rosignol to 125 in their 1st innings response.
When Fort Wellington batted again, they were bowled out for 61 with Karim picking up 4 for 26 to end with match bowling figures of 11 for 58. Rosignol went on to win by 9 wickets.
Dishan Phillips with 58, Jamey Goria 53 and Dianauth Persaud 51 spearheaded No. 8 Secondary to 241 for 5 declared in their 1st innings against Woodley Park Secondary. When Woodley Park replied, Stephen Saul took 6 for 23 and Nigel Deodat 3 for 1 from 2 overs to bowl them out for 28. Following on, Woodley Park feared a little better as they were bowled out for 40 with Deodat grabbing 6 for 14 and Saul 3 for 19, both bowlers ending with match hauls of 9 wickets each.
