According to Police Prosecutor, Inspector Michael Grant, between those dates personnel from GT&T were conducting an exercise in Sophia when they noticed the cables on a utility pole was missing. The matter was reported.
Grant said that acting on information received, the cables were found at the back of Sophia. Following police investigations, the four men were arrested and charged with simple larceny.
In court, the men pleaded and submitted bail applications through their lawyers. Niggins was represented by Attorney-at-Law Patrice Henry while George and Clarkson were represented by Attorney-at-Law Lloyd Mark Conway. Ramlogan had no lawyer.
The lawyers asked the Magistrate to consider offering bail in a reasonable amount and the Prosecution did not object. Henry reported that the four accused had been held in custody since Saturday. The lawyer (Henry) said that the Prosecution had no evidence against his client.
