The National Insurance Scheme (NIS) in Berbice on Wednesday journeyed to
Area manager Michael Patterson presents the token to centenarian Ms. Olga Elgin. Others in picture are Office Manager Shellon Wattkins and medical personnel Nurses Florence Beaton and Goulda Semple.
Fyrish, home of Corentyne of centenarian Ms. Olga Elgin, the oldest surviving pensioner, and presented her with a Christmas hamper. Ms. Briton was born on August 31, 1913.
The visiting NIS team was led by its Berbice Area Manager Mr. Michael Patterson.
The gesture which the scheme undertakes on a yearly basis is done at each office, where a pensioner is identified and recognised by the NIS.
