Dear Editor,
I find Mr. Dabydeen’s explanation for his non appearance to present the volumes of the Speeches of Forbes Burnham wholly disgusting.
In essence, excuses for both days are flat and unbecoming for an Ambassador. To add to the attempt at blindfolding us, Mr. Dabydeen starts his explanation by mentioning that (Quote) “Although the PNC are subject to international academic boycott over the death of Walter Rodney..” (Unquote) – this is hilarious! We want our young people to have the opportunity of accessing some of the greatest speeches ever delivered by a great Guyanese.
If proper protocols were in place, then the Foreign Affairs Ministry would have had an Itinerary prepared before the learned Professor/Ambassador even reached Guyana.
Sorry, Mr. Dabydeen, but your excuses for both days are unacceptable and disrespectful not only to Parliament but to all decent minded Guyanese.
Editor, do we have to be taken on this walk of tardiness or could we access these speeches without the ceremonious tomfoolery? Please advise me.
