School of the Nations has amassed 12 points after winning all 4 of their matches played so far to lead the points standing in Group A as action in the Scotiabank/Pepsi School Football Academy continues at venues countrywide. Christ Church Secondary lost one of their 4 games played so far to amass 9 points, the same as Charlestown Secondary and St George’s High, but leads the points standings in Group B by dint of a positive goal difference of 17.
The action continued last Wednesday afternoon at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue when Campbellville Secondary female team edged out defending champions, North Georgetown Secondary 1-0. 2012 Scotiabank/Pepsi All Star player, Cindy McPherson netted in the 4th minute to send her tournament tally to 4 goals. The win was the 3rd for the Campbellville team propelling it to the finals.
Meanwhile, the action continues today with 3 games in the male category at the same venue; Lodge Secondary will clash with School of the Nations at 10:00hrs, while Queens College and New Campbellville Secondary will collide at 11:30hrs. North Georgetown and Tutorial will face off at 12:30hrs in a game that is just as important for both teams. All the games are male games.
The action continues tomorrow when Chase Academy and Bishops High clash at 10:00hrs in a male encounter, while Tutorial High and Charlestown Secondary will clash in a female game starting at 11:15hrs. The winner of this match stands a great chance of advancing to the final. The final game will witness Christ Church up against current leaders, Campbellville Secondary starting at 12:30hrs.
Two games are scheduled for Linden today; Harmony Secondary clash with Wisburg Secondary starting at 10:00hrs while Linden Foundation Secondary takes on New Silver City Secondary from 11:30hrs.
Persistent rains over the past weekend disrupted activities and one of the male games, Berbice High against Berbice Education Institute had to be rescheduled to Thursday afternoon.
