Some people don’t have problem sleeping. Some does put down dem head and by de time you count from one to ten dem done sleeping. Some does have to count, and count, and count and recount and dem still can’t sleep.
Is a mystery if de Big Man does sleep. Dem boys seh that he does count and forget that he count and don’t sleep. Is nuff people does haunt he. He does toss and tun. When he toss to de right he does see de Waterfalls Boss Man; when he tun to de lef he does see Uncle Freddie. When he look up he does see Uncle Adam, not a pretty face to see in any dark night.
When de Big Man roll over and tun he face in de pillow he does see Henry de Yellow wid he Guyana passport open in he hand wid a cancelled visa and crying hard, hard, hard.
De Big Man does suck he teeth and try fuh look in de distance but he don’t get help. He does see Neil Marks, Julia, Moseley, Enrico, Haynes and Gaulbert.
According to dem boys is not only people he does see in de distance. He see plenty other things. He done wid land he now stretching he hand in de sea. He get Caroline, de farin lady, fuh mek a claim to land past Guyana economic zone. He now want things wha deh 150 miles more far.
Dem boys seh that if people think is only de Man above know wha deh under de water dem wrang. De Big Man know too. He know something that ordinary people don’t know. Perhaps he looking fuh a way fuh get away from Guyana.
Now people understand why he does travel so much. He can’t sleep.
