Dear Editor,
The PNCR should take a page from President Obama’s leadership philosophy when he said Wednesday (23-06-10) after firing General Stanley McChrystal, “I didn’t want to see pettiness; this was not about personalities or reputations…I welcome debates among my team but not divisions”.
Let us welcome debates among all the PNCR leaders, critics and supporters, in Guyana and the Diaspora, but not divisions and pettiness. We are just too intelligent and matured…and, no PNCR problem is insurmountable.
Many of us are learning more about the intricacies of the PNCR and “enlightened political/ economical alternatives for Guyana”, as we read those articles and intelligent responses from Eric, Debra, Neville, Lloyd, Kean, Dr. John Austin, Mr. Robert Corbin, Edmond Braithwaite, Aubrey Norton, Gerry King, Robin Williams, Dr. Van West Charles, Minette and others…and we do appreciate your time, skills and commitment towards a transparent/democratic Guyana, and a united, vibrant and harmonious PNCR party.
I have received several personal phone calls of “thank you” from many Guyanese all over the Diaspora whose e-mail addresses I had asked Neville and Lloyd to include on the list. They are ready to support and contribute to the PNCR party because of your lively discussions. Congratulations to all on behalf of many.
All options must be available to the PNCR and the Guyanese people for 2011 – the Afro Guyanese citizens who are marginalised by the PPP Government; the Indo Guyanese; the Amerindians and mixed race and others who want to join forces with PNCR, AFC, WPA and others. Nonetheless, since Guyana’s current political situation where an elected dictatorship controls the executive, legislative and judicial branches of Government and “partially owns and manipulates the Guyana Police Force and the Guyana Defence Force…then, the opposition parties must have several options available to them in order to win the 2011 election. Some options that should be discussed and considered are:
Civil disobedience by the Guyanese citizens all over Linden, Berbice, the coastlands, Georgetown and other important areas of the country. (Eric said it best)
Joint coalition that would serve the best interest of Guyana by bringing together all the parties and individuals who want to bring democracy and a change of government to the country (most agree on this option).
ABC countries (America, Britain and Canada) military intervention…why not? Very Controversial, however, it should be discussed…CIA, MI5 and Royal Canadian MP’S are already monitoring several activities and communications inside Guyana.
The Guyana opposition parties insisting that the United States Government release those sealed indictments which are ready for current PPP Government officials who are senior leaders.
Guyana’s opposition parties demanding that the United States Government declassify and release some of the damaging materials supplied to them by Roger Khan, Morgan, Clarke and some members the Queens, NY, Guyanese drug cartel that are now in American custody.
The leaders of the PNCR, AFC, WPA and all stakeholders in Guyana meeting with Susan Rice, US ambassador to the United Nations and if necessary, meeting the US Homeland Security and the Defence Departments Under Secretaries.
During Guyana’s civil strife and the 80-day strike in the early 60’s, the PNC party stood there for the Guyanese people, providing leadership, food, clothing, comfort and shelter for men, women and children.
That is the PNC party we grew up loving, working with and respecting therefore, this same PNC party should remain together and lead the Guyanese people again into having a productive, vibrant and harmonious democratic country for the 21st century. Leadership must come from the PNC. Many of us in the Diaspora would like to see a more politically focused/transparent PNCR party which can revitalize, organise and inspire the citizens of Guyana.
Moreover, only a strong opposition party could become productive to serve the needs of all the Guyanese people. Let the discussions and debates continue.
