The District Grand Lodge of Freemasons in Guyana yesterday contributed $100,000 to each of ten charitable organisations. The cheques were handed out at a simple ceremony at the Freemasons’ Hall, North Road and Wellington Street, Georgetown.
The recipients, yesterday, were the Salvation Army Men’s Social Centre, Uncle Eddie’s Home, St. Phillip’s Anglican Church, St. Andrew’s Kirk, Gentlewomen’s Relief Association, Archer’s Home, St. Ann’s Orphanage, Linden Centre for the Disabled, and Thomas Lands Y.M.C.A.
Freemasons’ District Grand Secretary, Ivor O’Brien, said that the other charitable organisation slated to receive a donation is the Alpha Home in Berbice where the chapter there will facilitate that presentation.
