Dear Editor,
I wish John Da Silva would stop telling us the country has not decayed under the PPP. Things are harder and more expensive than ever before. The prosperity under Hoyte disappeared and businesses are forced to close. The big houses in Berbice are locked up and everybody is going to Canada and USA for betterment. People are even going to Barbados and living in pig pens and containers just for betterment.
Crime is on the increase. Hoyte brought back hanging and it reduced crimes. People are living in fear and at nights are sleeping with neighbours. These days you have to lock gates, doors and windows even in broad day light. When you are doing business or walking the streets, you have to look over your shoulders.
Jonestown was the only massacre under the PNC and people died because Jim Jones gave them poison in kool-aid. Drug trafficking is on the increase.
Floods are destroying homes, produce, livestock and cattle. No one is being compensated. The politicians visit and express how sorry they are and tell us about the PNC’s 28 years. Come on John, people are living under very bad conditions. We voted for the PPP and are punishing more than ever.
