DEAR EDITOR,
I am an American-based Guyanese, and I would like to know what the rules on Brazilians coming into Guyana are.
Is there requirement for a visa? I would like to know what the Government is doing about all the minerals that are being illegally taken out of Guyana to Brazil everyday by the Brazilians.
I once owned a dredge in Guyana and I saw billions of dollars in minerals being taken by the Brazilians. Are the GGMC officers in the interior being paid off?
From my point of view, soon Guyana will be a Portuguese-speaking country, instead of English-speaking. There are many Brazilians living in Guyana who are committing crimes and running back to Brazil.
Georgetown has so many businesses that are owned by Brazilians. Why is the Guyana Government allowing these people to invade this country like that?
I would really like for someone to bring this up in Parliament. Please bring this to the attention of the Guyanese people. Guyana had better address this issue now, before it’s too late.
